Midnight moon is cypress grove creamlines newest imported cheese. Having rocked the chesse world with such hits like their incredible "Humbolt Fog" soft goat cheese, Midnight moon could also have an astounding effect on the cheese palate of America. This chesse is from Holland and is a goat milk gouda that has been aged one year. The flavour is incredible and not as goaty as one would believe especially if they are biased against goat milk. There are calcium crystals throughout and the cheese though firm melts away in your mouth. If this cheese was a little less $$$, I would grate it over everything.

Two thousand blackbirds

I awoke this morning to a cacaphony of sound. I arose and peered out into my backyard to discover a giant flock of black birds covering the yard, the yard next door, and the surrounding trees. I had not seen this great flock in some time and figured them to be victims of the recent bird flu pandemic. Hearing and seeing this great flock this morning made me feel better about the state of the evironment around here...

Anagama Kiln Firing

Firing October 29- 31, Unloading November 6

Everyone is invited to join in the firing of our wonderful anagama kiln. Bring cone 10 bisque pots, and glaze with our glazes, or bring your own cone 10 glazes to share. Loading begins early on Friday morning, stoking begins late Friday night and continues until Sunday morning. Participants will sign up for four hour shifts to stoke the kiln. The kiln will be unloaded the following Saturday, November 6. Bring protective clothing (long sleeves, no synthetic fibers- they are flammable) and work gloves. Trucks and chainsaws are always needed, too!

The firing fee is one cent per cubic inch. Participants are welcome to camp on the lawn. Food is potluck style- bring something you can share. Everyone is expected to pitch in! Please RSVP to hold your place in the firing.
